Craig & Heidt, Inc.

Craig & Heidt is privately owned and was started in the late 1940's by J.C. Kingsbery.  Charles Craig joined the company as a partner in 1959.  The company was incorporated as Craig & Heidt in 1973.

Craig & Heidt maintains a permanent workforce of dedicated employees to staff its projects and provide the necessary support services.  These include superintendents, foremen, operators, truck drivers, laborers, mechanics and project managers.

The company owns and maintains an equipment fleet and associated support vehicles necessary to complete its projects.

The company owns and maintains a 5000 sq. ft. permanent office facility in West Houston.  Maintenance of equipment is performed at the 4000 sq. ft. shop facility.

Craig & Heidt management and employees are firmly committed to achieving only the highest quality work and total customer satisfaction.

The company maintains full insurance coverage including workers' compensation, employers' liability, automobile liability and umbrella insurance.  Performance and payment bonds are provided through our long standing relationship with a major surety company.  Craig & Heidt maintains prequalification status with the Texas Department of Transportation.

Community Service

The management of Craig & Heidt believes in the importance of supporting the local community and have actively participated in and sponsored community events since the inception of the company.

Spring Branch Presbyterian Church

Charles Craig is an active member of the Spring Branch Presbyterian Church.  He is on the board of directors of the church day care and has done paving work for them on a volunteer basis.  Kay Craig is also an active member and serves as Chair of Fellowship and the weekly dinners.

Over the years, support has included monetary donations as well as the paving services of Craig & Heidt to the church and also to Presbyterian Camp Cho Yeh in Livingston, Texas.

Spring Branch FFA

Craig & Heidt is also an enthusiastic supporter of the Spring Branch and Channleview FFA organizations.

Through monetary donations and the purchases of student projects raised or made to earn scholarships, as well as with road work to their Ag farm.  FFA auction photos line the walls at the Craig & Heidt offices.

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council

Contributions and volunteer work from Craig & Heidt have supported the Girls Scouts of San Jacinto Council in their Urban Campout and Gold Award College Scholarships for many years.  Kay Craig sits on the Board of GSSJC in her second term, is an active volunteer with a troop, is a Council Trainer, and serves on several Council committees.

Houston Parks & Recreation Department

Craig & Heidt sponsors programs and special events put on by the Houston Parks & Recreation Department Adaptive Recreation Program for the physically challenged.

Additional community events sponsored have included the MS-150 Ride, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and local county precinct events.
